KY-OH-WV District of Pilot International
VISION STATEMENT:
My vision for our Clubs, District and Pilot International is to increase the visibility of Pilot. Display your banners as you go out into the community and wear your Pilot Pins and shirts to show who we are. We need everyone to know what Pilot stands for and the many services provided. We will continue our Garden Flags and www.pilotkow.org web site.
My vision is to strengthen Pilot through increased membership in our local clubs and increase attendance at District and International Conventions. We need to see new members added to bring fresh ideas. We also need to focus on retention of our present membership.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
GROWTH AND EXPANSION
New Members – Get back to the basics of involving the business community with Pilot volunteering and involving Anchor parents.
Expansion Objective – develop an “explosive” e-membership program throughout the District.
Membership: Chair Maxine Harris and Jane Engle will be assisting clubs to changes needed in their by-laws, explaining “how to” use e-membership to clubs fullest advantage. Timelines and annual dues for e-membership (to include District & PI) to be set by individual clubs.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Education and Training Objective – to develop and provide the necessary “tools” and resources for clubs to maximize their potential.
Hold training sessions with uniform KY-OH-WV District forms (available on web site) at the Fall Council, Pilot Club of Dayton, OH and review/upgrade at the 2011 District Convention in Huntington, WV April 8-10, 2011.
Educational articles in the Governor’s Bulletin. Leadership Training Team/ Patti Mettle and Shannon Hill.
Communication Objective – Continue the KY-OH-WV District web site. (www.pilotkow.org)
Increase the awareness of the KY-OH-WV District and links to community, volunteer organizations, state websites and fundraising opportunities.
Reduces costs and improve efficiency of District operations to the members.
Provide information on KY-OH-WV District fundraisers and projects by individual clubs.
Expedites delivery of information and creates a visual presence of Pilot and Anchors in the KY-OH-WV District.

SERVICE
To encourage Pilots to continue to step up to leadership positions within their clubs, district and international levels. Gail Byrd, PIF Rep.
VISIBILITY
Objective – To increase visibility of Pilot in KY-OH-WV

Garden Flags – fundraising project. Flags will serve to increase local visibility and provide funding for District projects.
Anchors
Involve parents of local Anchors to become Pilot members, PI to provide information. Carolyn Waybright will keep us updated on news concerning the Anchors.
Anchors of assist with step-up and instructions for use of the Wii video system at retirement and assisted living centers where applicable.
