Thank you for your interest in the Children Have An iDentity program. Through CHAD, you can help provide the children in your community the identification they need to be treated quickly in case of emergency.

The CHAD sticker is a small information/identification form that can be per­manently attached to a child's car seat. On it, parents can list all important medical information, contact information and emergency instructions. Should a child be involved in a car accident, medical personnel will use this information to contact the parent or guardian to obtain permission to treat the child.

The program began in Illinois after 13 month-old Chad was involved in a car crash that killed his baby sitter and left him injured. Hospital personnel worked hard to identify Chad, and found his parents. Yet, had Chad been identified sooner, he would not have waited for treatment.

The Travelers Protective Association (TPA) is committed to children having the identification they need to be helped in case of emergency. We have now expanded the CHAD program to reach 29 states and thousands of chil­dren.

 Now you can help: Foster community awareness

The children of your community need you to help create awareness for this lifesaving program. To assist you, TPA will provide the materials you need to reach out to community leaders.

These materials include counter cards and sticker packets. These can be placed in local businesses and meeting spots. The counter cards and sticker packets explain the CHAD program and provide everything a parent needs to participate. You can ask permission to place the information in the many places where they will be seen, including:

Restaurants - Banks - Retail Stores - Hospitals - Malls - Movie Theatres and Libraries
